About Build Your AI Stack

An independent editorial project for making smaller, better AI software decisions.

Build Your AI Stack helps small businesses decide what AI should actually do, which parts of a workflow should remain human or deterministic, and what the smallest practical software stack looks like.

What this site is

Workflow-first decision support.

We publish workflow guides, business-specific decision pages, tool comparisons, alternatives, pricing explainers, live stack scenarios and original cost models. Each page is intended to answer a concrete buying or operating question rather than simply catalog software.

What this site is not

No invented expertise or first-hand claims.

Build Your AI Stack does not invent people, credentials, company size, years of experience, locations, customer outcomes or hands-on testing. When a page relies on vendor-published information, planning assumptions or regulatory guidance, those are kept distinct.

How pages are researched

Structured evidence first, prose second.

Vendor documentation

Product capabilities and packaging are checked against vendor documentation and product pages rather than copied from third-party roundups.

Pricing pages

Pricing claims are tied to dated plan records. Pricing can change quickly, so pages show checked dates and direct readers back to the vendor before purchase.

Evidence records

Sources, checked dates and supporting notes are stored in evidence.json. Decision pages surface a page-specific “Sources checked” list from that structured evidence layer.

AI-assisted research and drafting

AI helps produce the work; the published method controls the recommendation.

Research synthesis, data organization, drafting and maintenance are AI-assisted. Every recommendation still follows the published workflow-first methodology: define the problem, map required capabilities, apply budget/technical/data-risk gates, credit software already owned, and prefer the minimum adequate tool set.

AI-generated text is not treated as evidence by itself. Product claims and pricing references are tied back to the structured source records used by the site.

Verification schedule

Changing claims are re-verified.

Pricing, feature packaging, affiliate terms and other time-sensitive claims carry checked dates in the data layer and are re-verified on a maintenance schedule and when material changes are discovered. Older planning assumptions are labeled separately from vendor-live pricing.

If a source can no longer support a claim, the claim should be updated, qualified or removed rather than silently carried forward.

How we make money

Some links can earn affiliate commissions.

Build Your AI Stack can earn a commission when a reader buys through certain outbound links. Affiliate economics are stored separately from the recommendation engine and have zero weight in workflow scoring, tool eligibility, comparison logic or minimum-tool set cover.

A product can be included without an affiliate program, and a qualifying affiliate program does not guarantee that a product will be recommended.

Affiliate disclosure

Editorial independence

Commercial relationships do not buy editorial outcomes.

Vendors do not receive higher rankings, favorable comparison outcomes, inclusion in a recommended stack or suppression of competing products in exchange for commission availability. If a commercial relationship exists, it affects link treatment and disclosure—not the decision rules.

Corrections and suggestions

Found an error or a tool we should evaluate?

Product pricing, plan packaging and capabilities change. Send the page URL and what looks wrong, or suggest a tool that belongs in a workflow. Reports are useful even when you do not provide a name.
